Dr. Joseph S. Galati is a native of Long Island, New York. After completion of his fellowship training, Dr. Galati relocated to Houston, Texas where he joined Drs. Monsour, Wood and Ozaki (who were also at University of Nebraska) at University of Texas Medical School-Houston. In 1996, he became Medical Director of Transplant Hepatology at University of Texas Medical School. In the spring of 1999, Dr. Galati left his full-time position at University of Texas Medical School to form a private practice with most of his University colleagues.
In 2007, Dr. Galati was appointed the Medical Director for the Center of Liver Disease and Transplantation at The Methodist Hospital, Houston Texas. The Methodist Hospital is one of the country's top facilities, ranked by US News and World Report as one of America’s Top Hospital year after year.
Dr. Galati is President of the Texas International Endoscopy Center, a state of the art endoscopy facility where gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures are performed by Texas Medical Center physicians.
